Greying of Hair: How to Prevent It
Preventing Grey Hair: Some Advices
Care for grey hair, when administered properly, can have lasting effects for the better.
Take your vitamins and minerals.
Hair damage may be repaired and general health can be preserved with the help of vitamins and minerals. Biotin and vitamin B-12 are two essential vitamins. Minerals including zinc, iron, magnesium, selenium, and copper are essential for healthy hair, along with the B vitamins and vitamins D, E, and A.
Give up tobacco and booze.
The most common causes of premature greying are cigarette and alcohol use. Hair follicles are sensitive and can be damaged by smoking and alcohol.
Keep your hair out of the sun.
Premature greying of the hair can also be caused by overexposure to the sun and UV radiation. Wearing a hat or scarf to hide your grey hair is a good idea for those who have this problem.
Don’t use potentially dangerous items
Chemicals in hair care products are a major contributor to premature greying since they damage hair follicles. Don’t use any bleach or dye that contains chemicals. Care for grey hair by doing so is both recommended and beneficial.
Use a Comb with Large Teeth
Start brushing your hair with a wide-toothed comb so you don’t damage your follicles.
The use of harsh shampoos, soaps, and excessive washing, as well as the application of heat to the hair (for straightening or curling), should be minimised.
The cause of grey hair.
Melanin, created before birth, is responsible for giving hair its natural colour. The distribution, type, and amount of melanin in hair are only a few of the elements that determine its natural colour.
Eumelanin and pheomelanin are the two types of pigment found in human hair. Colours are made up of a combination of these pigments. Pigment cells (melanocytes) are responsible for producing melanin. They settle in at the surface follicles from where hair emerges. One hair follicle is responsible for the growth of one hair. Hair turns white because of a loss of pigment cells and melanin as we age.
